Mission of the Hixson United Methodist Child Development Center

The CDC exists to provide, within a Christian atmosphere, opportunities which meet the educational needs of the early childhood years and emphasizes growth in all areas—physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual. We are a three star facility and are proud to hold the Gold Sneaker designation denoting our commitment to healthy foods and physical activity. We use High Reach curriculum which is aligned with standard performance indicators for kindergarten to ensure we are preparing our students for the next phase of their lives. All classes attend weekly music class. We have one Spanish Immersion classroom. We have monthly “field trips” to enhance our learning- we stay on site safe and sound and the “field trip” comes to us! These visits are made possible through our Special Visitors Sponsorship Program. Some visitors include the Tennessee Aquarium, Creative Discovery Museum, Chattanooga Zoo and Kids On The Block.
